A legal awareness team from the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has held a forum to highlight the role of the SCA in protecting investors. The forum, which was held under the theme: "The Role of SCA in Protecting Investors", at the Dusit Hotel in Dubai, is based on the SCA's regulatory role and tasks to facilitate opportunities for investment in the Securities sector to serve the national interest.
The forum was attracted a large number of interest groups from the securities sector, including staff of securities markets, brokerage companies and other stakeholders in the securities industry.
Presentations made at the forum covered major issues of interest, with emphasis on SCA's investor protection fundamentals, in terms of regulations proposed or issued to guarantee protection for investors both before and after the latter's engagement in transactions on licensed securities markets.
Members of the team took turn to explain in details all the major issues related to the subject and to answer enquiries and questions from the attendees.
