SCA Enters into Contract with SUC to Develop Smartphone Application to Raise Investor Awareness

The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) entered into a contract with the Sharjah-based Skyline University College (SUC) to develop a smartphone application to promote awareness among investors and market participants. H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, CEO of SCA, signed the contract with  Kamal Puri, President of SUC.

Under the contract, SUC will develop a smartphone application to enhance investor awareness. The application will include a page identifying its target audience and will contain information on SCA’s agenda, how to participate in SCA’s events, and SCA’s communication channels. The application will also feature videos, brochures, and circulars.

Dr. Al Zaabi also signed an MoU with Gergi Abboud, Senior Vice President of SAP Middle East South. The MoU is based on the common desire of the parties to embark on cooperative efforts to discuss the introduction of innovative, digital solutions and services—such as blockchain applications—in the financial services industry.

It is worth mentioning that SAP is the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software that assists in improving customer relations, promoting cooperation with partners, creating competencies, and enhancing access to information.

Under the MoU, SAP will undertake joint innovation efforts to develop an initial use case model by running innovative design thinking courses, support use case priorities, and debate over its platform and the best blockchain practices.

SCA entered into another MoU with SAM Services FZ LLC. The MoU was signed by Dr. Al Zaabi and Marc Gillis, Managing Director. Under this MoU, the scope of cooperation and technical assistance will be determined during GITEX Technology Week 2018 to develop a pilot model to showcase data and statistical reports using SCA’s data on licensed companies. As part of the MoU, SAM showcased advanced dashboards powered by CCH Tagetik and QlikSense at SCA’s pavilion at GITEX Technology Week.
