SCA Introduces the Financial Supervision Program for Future Leaders to Empower Nationals in Leading Positions in the Securities Industry

In response to the directives of H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), SCA introduces the Financial Supervision Program for Future Leaders, specifically designed for its employees, as part of a plan to empower UAE nationals. The program focuses primarily on practical training as well as on other aspects of career coaching.

This program is part of SCA’s initiatives and sustained efforts to apply the concepts of excellence, creativity, and innovation; implement the best professional and administrative practices; and adopt the most efficient and sophisticated business approaches used in financial markets by having participants apply the concepts and skills acquired to improve performance and develop business procedures.

This training program focuses on developing the technical, personal, and leadership aspects, and is specifically tailored for SCA’s national employees working in its technical departments. Its aim is to train future leaders in the securities field and develop competencies, capacities, and technical expertise of national employees in various technical areas, such as licensing, supervision, issuance, disclosure, and financial analysis. What characterizes the program is that it allocates a mentor to each participant during its whole term.

The program will be held on a regular monthly basis as part of a three-year plan. In its first stage, it will focus on technical expertise and on continuing education in its second.

This training program was designed according to an in-depth methodology to reflect the technical and practical aspects of SCA’s technical departments. This will allow employees joining the program to quickly acquire skills and improve their competencies. Some of the most important themes include world financial markets, international regulatory standards, international audit standards, accounting standards, dealing with fraud, and money laundering. The candidates will earn specialist certification in these areas: the UAE rules and regulations, risks facing the financial services sector, international securities, international introduction to securities, risks of administrative operations in financial institutions, and managing wealth and assets.
