The country’s celebration of the Emirati Women’s Day reflects the importance the wise government places on the role Emirati women play out of its belief that they make considerable contributions to the country’s development and prosperity. We acknowledge here with deep gratitude and appreciation the unparalleled strategic and developmental support H.H. Mother of the Nation Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, gives to Emirati women. She has always been keen to promote women’s role and to enable them to make greater contributions to the country’s development by introducing legislation and establishing women’s foundations that help them to build their capacities and achieve success in their career and in parenting.  
This year, Emirati Women’s Day is celebrated under the theme “Women, Icons of Tolerance” to emphasize the role women play in establishing tolerance as a strategy and highlight its value in the community. Emirati women have become a symbol of tolerance, coexistence, and openness thanks to their adherence to their customs and traditions and to the principles of religion.
