SCA and DFM organize, in collaboration with the Youth Hub, seminars for young people on World Investor Week 2019

As part of the events held to mark World Investor Week 2019, which bring together the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and members of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), SCA and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) organized two awareness-raising seminars targeted at university students.

Located at Emirates Towers in Dubai, the Youth Hub hosted the two seminars, which addressed a number of key matters relating to financial market trades. The first seminar, titled “Young People and the Future of Securities”, was delivered by Khalifa Rabba, Deputy Head of Operations pision at DFM, whereas the second seminar, titled “Investor Rights”, was delivered by Khalid Al Mahmoud, Director of Legal Affairs Department at SCA.

In his seminar, Rabba discussed the main objectives of stock exchanges and their importance in promoting the national economy and providing liquidity to companies. He talked about the components of securities markets, the relationship between these components, and the nature of the products and processes involved. Rabba concluded by highlighting the vital role that young people play in the future of securities.

In the second seminar, Al Mahmoud talked about what can help enhance the awareness of young people when it comes to investing in securities. He mentioned a number of tips and guidelines that young people should take into consideration when dealing in securities, in addition to other risk mitigation tips, which will help them make informed investment decisions and achieve good returns.
